Blurring The Self (2021-Current)
Blurring The Self is a participatory performance, and a video art work that explores the underwater metamorphosis of the self in its struggle for individual and collective harmony. For the participatory submersion performance, I invite each participant to symbolically dissolve barriers to human unity through an underwater headshake—a gesture of disagreement in some cultures, of affirmation in others. Key moments of the video happen when the faces of different participants overlap each other, portraying ambiguous beings in a strange collective process of change.
